The first ever hats I made, were during my second year of University, and all were recreations. The first is a buckram blocked crown with flat pattern brim covered with velvet and silk dupion, trimmed with ribbon and handmade and painted foliage from the series Klondike. The Second is a Sinamay blocked crown and flat patterned brim with hand sewn matching binding, finished with handmade silk organza flowers, silk dyed leaves with embroidered details and stem, a 1950's Bes-Ben hat recreation. The third is a flat patterned Beret made from lamb's wool with hand cut petals, recreated from The Imitation Game. The final hat is felt with a blocked crown and flat brim, with handmade ribbon flowers and pleated fabric trim, recreated from the Netflix's series The Alienist. (Photography: JohnsonPhotograph).
