My final pieces for my minor third year at university, for a Victorian Bridal millinery Version of 'Only Ever Yours' made for the characters Darwin and Megan who get married in the book. Darwin's top hat was flat patterned from buckram covered in ice wool, then covered with a polyester crepe satin to mimic historic silk plush, the top hat was also hand wired, bounded and sewn. Finished with a mourning band made of silk dupion to reflect the character is not marrying for happiness or love. Megan's wedding spoon bonnet is also flat patterned and covered in ice wool, then hand wired and the base was covered with strips of straw braid which were hand sewn. The inside of the bonnet was also hand sewn. Megan's bonnet was finished with handmade flowers symbolising the character's idealised traits, net tulle straps and bavolet.
